Delfinas Residency Programme has an international outlook and has established special residency programmes in collaboration with: Visiting Arts Berlin Senate, Department of Science, Research and Culture Fonds BKVB- Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture in Amsterdam Pépinières The Cartier Award 2006 Kunsthalle Wien Each of these residencies is incorporated within the general structure of the Delfina programme but with independent application and funding procedures. Visiting Arts is funding an annual residency for artists from regions underrepresented in the UK and Delfina provides them with a studio and accommodation for 9 months. Previous awards have been given to Khalil Rabah (Palestinian), Lenny Ratnasari (Indonesian), Nguyen Minh Thanh (Vietnamese) and this year Kate Naluyele from Zambia has been selected. See: www.visitingarts.org.uk. In 1997 the Berlin Senate's Department of Science, Research
and Culture established a separate annual residency at Delfina for one
artist from Berlin. This collaboration has been very successful allowing
young Berlin artists to live and make art in London. Contact: Marlis Micha
In the Summer Delfina also provides a number of short term residencies: The Cartier Award for an emerging artist is a major new initiative by Frieze and Delfina. The prize also includes a three month residency at Delfina Studio Trust including living accommodation and studio, from 1 August – 31 October 2006. This residency is supported by Delfina, Visiting Arts, British Council and Charles Asprey. www.artschoolpalestine.com Also in the Summer of 2002 two European artists selected through Pépinières MAP (Mobility in Art Process) had a residency at Delfina. Riiko Sakkinen made an off-site project together with Camden Arts Centre and Rob Voerman made a project with LIFT. Their projects were supported by The Arts Council of England. See www.art4eu.net Accommodation and studio space is also provided for
artists and curators visiting London for shorter periods of time, and
Delfina welcomes collaboration with other visual arts organisations (most
recently the Camden Arts Centre, the Showroom and the South London Gallery).
The quality of the facilities, and the flexibility with which they are
made available, allow Delfina to provide an invaluable service to the
visual arts in London. |
